Job Description

About Teach For Australia

Our vision is an Australia where education gives every child greater choice for their future. The mission is to grow a community of leaders committed to equity for children and young people, by recruiting and developing exceptional people to teach and lead across Australian schools.

About the Position

This role is responsible for coaching and supporting the professional development of participants in Teach for Australia’s Queensland Future Leaders Program (FLP), and contributes to achieving TFA’s strategy, including the organisation’s commitment to Reconciliation.
With student outcomes persistently below minimum standards and communities facing multiple compounding factors of disadvantage, Regional, Rural and Remote schools (RRR), in particular, need leadership support. The FLP is a 1 year program funded by the Queensland Department of Education. The program focuses on equipping middle leaders with the skills, knowledge and experience to support the pipeline of ready leaders to transition to higher leadership roles in communities that need them the most.
Exclusively online, leadership coaching is a key pillar of the program, providing a critical space for participants to reflect, be challenged, supported and to experience transformation.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Queensland-based with a strong track record of working in low socioeconomic Queensland schools in a leadership role for 5+ years.

  • Prior experience as a coach in education with a strong ability to coach others - including building trust, listening, questioning, and giving feedback.

  • Experience working in rural/remote communities.

  • Emotionally intelligent, able to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse individuals across different geographies and contexts.

  • Invigorated by the prospect of using technology to support coaching, leadership development and scale.

  • Able to work autonomously and manage time efficiently.

For further details about this role please view the Job Description attached.

Please don't be discouraged from applying if you do not meet every requirement listed above. If you have other skills, experiences, or perspectives that could add value, we’d love to hear from you!

At Teach For Australia, we encourage people of all backgrounds to apply. We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected.
