Lead the delivery and implementation of the Programs in South Australia and contribute to the strategic direction and growth of all programs in SA. Coach and develop Associates to be effective teachers and leaders. Working with the national Teaching and Leadership Frameworks, the role also can be expected to design and deliver professional learning that addresses the needs of the Associates’ development. Finally, the Teaching & Leadership Coach is required to build new relationships and strengthen current relationships with diverse constituents, both internally and externally, contributing to a cohesive community that is connected to the greater movement for education equity.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
A recognised teaching qualification
At least two years of relevant teaching experience
Experience in coaching others to success
Familiarity with adult learning theory and experience facilitating professional learning workshops for a group
Full driver’s license and willingness to travel as required to fulfil the duties of the role (which may include overnight and/or extended trips)
Strong ability to translate conceptual information into operational plans, policies and procedures, including ability to think laterally and creatively to solve problems
Strong leadership orientation - proactive, self-starting, takes initiative and is a team player with the ability to independently deliver quality output within set timelines

Skills, Attributes and Knowledge
Essential
Evidence of strong knowledge and understanding of the South Australian schooling context and the drivers of educational inequity
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with school principals, school-based staff, and other leaders across the education sector including within the state government
Strategic planning and leadership skills
Coaching skills and strong desire to develop others, including the provision of positive and constructive feedback
Presence and influencing ability, exceptional people skills
Exceptional time management and planning skills
Ability to track, monitor and regularly report on targets and state level priorities
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with many stakeholders
Knowledgeable and skilled at delivering professional learning
Ability to apply knowledge of teaching and learning to prioritize and then address an early career teacher’s needs, to improve student learning
Ability to manage expenditure and travel arrangements in line with budgets
